Combat Crokinole
Combat Crokinole is a Crokinole variant. This was shown to me by a Club friend on 7/2, who noted he learned it from Chet Boehlke Jr from Extra Pint Voorheesville's Crokinole Club. I can't find a source online. If you know the origin or a source, please let me know. As these rules are written from second hand knowledge, I could be wrong. I'd like to know if I am.
Goal
Normal Crokinole scoring
Game start
Normal Crokinole setup. 2 or 4 players valid.
Turn
Normal Crokinole turn rules apply for what makes a valid shot, with the exception that pieces leaving the board and returning are live pieces. Such returning pieces are not removed after the turn is over. Also, any piece that lands in the 20 hole stay in the 20 hole. Further plays can knock a 20 out of the center hole.
Why play this?
This variant can cause shot objectives one won't see in standard play, giving alternate strategies and goals then normal. Pieces are much more likely to fly off the board, so it probably isn't a good option in a populated space.
