Combat Crokinole is a Crokinole variant. This was shown to me by a Club friend on 7/2j, who noted it came from someone else. I can't find a source online, suggesting I'm remembering the wrong name for the game. If you know the origin or a source, please let me know.

Goal

Normal Crokinole scoring

Game start

Normal Crokinole setup. 2 or 4 players valid.

Turn

Normal Crokinole turn rules apply for what makes a valid shot, with the exception that pieces leaving the board and returning are live pieces. They are not removed after the turn is over. Also, any piece that lands in the 20 hole stay in the 20 hole. Further plays can knock it out of the center hole.

Why play this?

This variant can cause shot objectives one won't see in standard play, giving alternate strategies and goals then normal. Pieces are much more likely to fly off the board, so it probably isn't a good option in a populated space.
